Mr. Facca was admitted to practice
law in the State of Michigan and the United States District
Court, Eastern District of Michigan in 1984. In 1986 Mr.
Facca was admitted to practice law in the United States
Court of Appeals, and the United States Claims Court.
Education:
Western Michigan University (B.B.A., 1979); Detroit College
of Law (J.D., 1984). He has attended various legal seminars
relating to construction claims. Furthermore, Mr. Facca
has spoken at seminars for the American Arbitration Association
and the Associated General Contractors, as well as writing
construction articles for the American Arbitration Association
and the Associated General Contractors.
Member: Oakland County and American Bar Associations
(Member ADR, Federal Contracts Committee) and State Bar
of Michigan (Section Alternative Dispute Resolution). Member,
Panel of Arbitrators, and Panel of Mediators for the American
Arbitration Association; member of the Associated General
Contractors, Detroit Chapter (AGC) Legal Committee (Chairman
1989-2001).
Experience: Prior to practicing law, Mr. Facca was
employed for approximately three (3) years with a commercial
foundation contractor, working primarily as an estimator
for commercial and industrial construction projects. From
1982-1984, Mr. Facca worked as a law clerk for Judge Richard
D. Kuhn, of the Oakland County Circuit Court. Since commencing
his law career, Mr. Facca has been involved primarily in
litigating, arbitrating, mediating and negotiating construction
disputes, representing, on various occasions, owners, design
professionals, contractors, and surety companies, as well
as being a Mediator for the Oakland County Circuit Court
and an Arbitrator and Mediator for the American Arbitration
Association. In addition, Mr. Facca has drafted and negotiated
construction contracts for clients. Also a member of the
ADR section of the Michigan Bar Association and a member
of the ADR Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association.
