Mr. Pregler was born on January 26,
1959, in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1987 he was admitted to practice
law in the State of Michigan, the U.S. District Court, Eastern
District of Michigan, the Western District of Michigan, and
the U.S. Claims Court.
Education: Michigan State University (B.A., 1982),
Detroit College of Law (J.D. 1986). Various legal seminars:
Construction, Bankruptcy, Real Property, and Corporate.
Member: Construction Association of Michigan (CAM),
Associated General Contractors (AGC), American Arbitration
Association, Oakland County Bar Association, Oakland County
District Court Mediation Committee, American Bar Associations
and State Bar of Michigan (Member sections of Alternate Dispute
Resolutions and Real Property Law).
Experience: Prior to practicing law, Mr. Pregler worked
as a laborer for a residential builder. Presently, Mr. Pregler
is a licensed residential builder in the State of Michigan.
Mr. Pregler is also a mediator for Macomb, Oakland and Wayne
County Courts (Circuit and District Courts). Mr. Pregler also
sits on the Oakland County District Court Mediation Committee.
Mr. Pregler is also a construction panel arbitrator for the
American Arbitration Association. Mr. Pregler has also authored
numerous legal and construction related articles for the Construction
Association of Michigan and other organizations.
In addition to being a member of the Construction Association
of Michigan, (CAM), Mr. Pregler was elected and serves on
CAM's Board of Directors and is the current Chairman of the
Board. CAM is the largest construction association in North
America with over 4,200 corporate members.
Further, Mr. Pregler is legal counsel to the Construction
Federal Credit Union (CFCU). Mr. Pregler handles the transactional
and collection matters for CFCU.
Upon graduating from Michigan State University, Mr. Pregler
worked with the Oakland County Court Administrator's office
from 1981-1982, performing an analysis of the mediation process
for the Court Administrator, Fred Mester. Thereafter, Mr.
Pregler gained litigation experience while working for the
Honorable Robert C. Anderson and the Honorable Frederick C.
Ziem of the Oakland County Circuit Court from 1982-1986, as
a judicial law clerk. Since joining the Michigan Bar, Mr.
Pregler has been involved in litigation, mediation, facilitation,
and arbitration of construction claims of owners, engineers,
architects, contractors and suppliers. In addition, Mr. Pregler
handles many of the real estate transactions, corporate matters,
and condominium development for our clients.
